Program
Wednesday
– Arrival to Lappis, Swedish sauna and welcome dinner. Check-in into the
double rooms in Lappis Lodge. For those arriving in the afternoon there will
be time to experience for the first time sauna! Welcome dinner and information
together with all the guests and the hosts in the evening. Overnight in double
rooms in the Lodge.
Thursday
– Picking wild berries, collecting fresh mushrooms, fish in one of Lapplands
best fishingwaters and finally cook our own nature-meal. Today we get
to know the wildernesscamp. A marvellous place in the middle of nowhere. The
only access to the camp in summer is by boat over the river, or through the
wetlands but even then there is no trail. We choose for the riversafari which
will take us with a strong hugh wooden riverboat to the camp. There we will
spend our day in the surrounding of the camp by picking berries and mushrooms
which you can find all around. There is millions of blueberries for example.
They have the most vitamin C of all the fruits. That is also the reason why
Samish or Lappish people collect them and use them in winter instead of vegetables.
And there is a lot more like ‘lingonbär’, ‘kråkbär’, ‘enris’, ‘hjortron’,
... Further there is a wide variety of eatable mushrooms in all shapes and
colours with different tastes. Our experienced guide will explain you all
about eatable berries and mushrooms. For those who want to fish we can offer
the Kalixriver, at the border of our wildernesscamp: one of Swedens best fishingwaters
with for example salmon, pike and grayling. If you feel like taking pictures
of nature, than this day offers you probably a very good opportunity. After
this wildlife day we will use our own harvest as some ingredients of todays
dinner, cooked above open fire. There will also be the possibility to enjoy
a traditional wood heated riverside-sauna ! The overnight we will have in
our wildernesscamp, far away from civilisation.
Friday
– Breakfast and Riversafari back to the Lodge. In the morning we will
enjoy a ‘breakfast with a view into the wilderness in our wildernesscamp.
A richly full table will be accompagnied by fresh coffee cooked above open
fire in our tipi. After that we go by boat for a riversafari over Kalix river
direction the Lodge.
True Blue
Lappis Lodge. Our very comfortable new accommodation welcomes our guests
with cosy and pleasant doublerooms (shower/WC in each room), which are located
right beside our stylish restaurant with its renewed delicious kitchen. A
rustic saunahouse with two different saunas is prepared for our guests always
after the great outdoor adventures... Lappis Wilderness Camp is situated 3
km from the main lodge, straight on the shore of the river Kalix – in the
middle of the wild north. No road access – the luxury rustic and cosy camp
with the complete silence of this beautiful spot will let our clients relax
for its best. Between 2 and 5 guests share one sleeping kota. A real sauna,
heated up with wood and the possibility for a nice dip in the river will take
care of our guests well-being. … All in all a great experience in the arctic
forests, with the warmth of our hospitality and accommodation - which will
never be forgotten!
