The Kungsleden is one of the most famous and most hiked trails in Scandinavia and leads from Abisko in Swedish north to Hemavan in the South. The skiing trail leads through beautiful fjell areas and mostly above the tree level. Through large mountain valley and high plateaus and with only little real ascending. With a little bit luck, it is still possible to see northern lights in this season. An unforgettable experience north of the polar circle we experience with our real friend sleddog, who pulls our luggage in a pulka… as a skier we are attached behind the pulka – like this the power of the sleddog often support also our skiing efforts!

overnights/catering
Our personal luggage will be pulled in a pulka by a sleddog (should be done with about 10-12 kg in total. Max. 7 – 8 kg are allowed to put to the pulka, the rest is carried by us in a daypack). Overnights in simple cabins. Every group member brings his own sleeping bag. 

program

1^st day: Transfer from the airport to the Abisko Fjell station.. Sauna. Dinner in the restaurant. Overnight in dorms.

2^nd day: After a good breakfastbuffet preparing of the tour. We start our trek through the Abisko national park up to the Abisko lake, where we will find on the southern end our first overnight cabin – Abiskojaure.  Distance approx. 15 km, duration approx. 4-5 hours. Dinner. Overnight in cabin.

3^rd day: This stage lead us through the last forest out to the fjells. On the foot of the mountain Adnetjarro to the many lakes Miesko Rade and Alis. Little later on we reach our next overnight cabin Alesjaure. Day distance approx. 20 km/5 - 6 h. For an additional fee possibility for sauna.

4^th day: After the breakfast our trail head out further through the impressive valley Alisviaggi where is also our next cabin Tjäktja. Approx. 13 km and 3 - 4 h.

5^th day: We ski up to the Tjäktjapass and of course down again - and further through the Tjäktja valley. All along the same called river… once closer once further. Often with a view to the mountain top Kebnekaise. We reach the cabins of Sälkastugorna – our next stage. As well here… for a small fee we enjoy sauna! Approx. 12 km and 3 - 4 h).

6^th day: Somewhat we ski around Sweden’s highest peak – Kebnekaise… After almost the half of our todays tour we reach the cabins of Singi. Where we enjoy a breakt in the warmth of the living room. Our trail leads us now to the direction east, up through a valley – until we reach our next stage end Kebnekaise Fjell station. The place, where most of the Kebnekaise climbers start theirs tour. Sauna and shower for free use… buffetdinner in the restaurant. Overnight in dorms. Approx. 25 km, 7 - 8 hours

7^th day: After a great breakfastbuffet we start to our last trekking day… we slowly leave the mountains. Across a long lake we reach finally after some more 19 km, 5 – 6 hours - our end of the tour Nikkaluokta. Transfer back to Kiruna and overnight in a youthhostel

8^th day: After breakfast transfer to the airport Kiruna.
