Hut to hut Ski trekking with pulka and sleddog in the Abisko national park – close to Sweden’s highest peak – Kebnekaise

The King’s Trail in Sweden is one of Scandinavia’s most famous trails. It leads from Abisko in north to Hemavan in the south: all in all it about 500 km. During this trip, we follow the perhaps most beautiful 100 km from Abisko to Nikkaluokta. The track leads through large snowy mountain valleys, along frozen rivers and over frozen lakes. With a little bit luck, we can watch the mystical northern light moving over the pale mountain landscape during the nights. Although this is a week’s trekking trip, we do not have to carry heavy backpacks but can put most of our luggage into pulks pulled by sled dogs. One of two ski trekkers is attached to the dog pulling the pulk – a great experience of co-working with those magnificent animals and often a good support for ourselves when being pulled long with the pulk. An unforgettable experience north of the polar circle!
