Monday
Transfer from the airport to the Hotel Herkko in Taivalkoski. Information
about the hotel and coming program. Sauna and swimmingpool are open. Dinner.
For guests which arrived earlier: 08.00 – 10.00 h breakfastbuffet. 10.30
h guided tour to the village of Taivalkoski with a visit to the more than
120 years old tradestore Jalavankauppa (possibility for souvenir shopping).
Coffee and cake in the traditional “pirtti”. Duration approx.
2 hours.
(35 €/person). Return back to the hotel. Sauna and swimmingpool are open.
19.00 h dinner.
Tuesday
08.00 – 10.00 h breakfastbuffet. 10.00 h transfer to the Finn-Jann Huskyfarm.
After getting good quality mountainbikes start to the backcountry biking tour
through the beautiful fields and forests. After returning back to the farm
lunch in the kota (wooden lappish tepee). In the afternoon we get to know
the lovely huskies. The musher tells a lot about breeding, grooming, racing
and working with the sleddogs. Transfer back to the hotel. Duration of the
excursion about 5 – 6 hours.
(100 €/person). Sauna and swimmingpool are open. 19.00 h dinner and afterwards
possibility for watching movies about sleddogs in action!
Wednesday
08.00 – 10.00 h breakfastbuffet. 10.30 guided Nordic Walking Tour with
short technic lessons to the Nature.Fitness.Park Taivalvaara. Duration of
the excursion about 2 hours. (€ 35/person). Sauna and swimmingpool are
open. 19.00 h dinner.
Thursday
08.00 – 10.00 h breakfastbuffet. 10.00 Transfer to the huskyfarm. Start
to a dayhike with the lovely huskies. Lunch during the tour around an open
fire. Transfer back to the hotel. Duration of the excursion about 5 –
6 hours. (€ 85/person). Sauna and swimmingpool are open. 19.00 h dinner.
Friday
08.00 – 10.00 h breakfastbuffet. 14.00 transfer to the Koivujärvi
lake. Meet the real finnish fisherman and learn all about his traditional
fishing technics. Possibility for getting a catch yourself. Enjoy a traditional
wood heated lakeside-sauna. Possibility for swimming. Dinner (salmon grilled
in the traditional way on boards) around the open fire straight on the lakeside.
Approx. 22.00 h transfer back to the hotel. (95 €/person).
Saturday
08.00 – 10.00 h breakfastbuffet. 10.00 Transfer to Jurmu. Canoeingtour
on the beautyful river Ii. Lunch during the tour. The “nightriver”
– named by finnish natives because of its colour – invites for
a refreshing bath. Return back to the hotel. Duration of the tour approx.
5 - 6 hours.
(€ 110/person). Sauna and swimmingpool are open. 20.00 h goodbye dinner
with the hotelmanager.
Sunday
After the breakfast transfer back to the airport.
