This program is tailored for people, who like to be in nature, love the huskies and still like to have relaxing time with little luxury. Experience a full day on a snowmobile. Drive three days your own husky-team with one overnight in a cosy, but rustic wilderness cabin. Snowshoe through the untouched, wide nature! Enjoy one week with various daily activities – unforgettable, adventurous – Finland offers you all you wish!

Accommodation

Kuuharju. On the banks of the romantic Kuulampi pond you can find seven Alpine chalets (89 m2). The cottages are fully equipped: sauna, shower room, 2 toilets, fireplace, kitchen appliances, TV, furniture and tableware and bed linen for six. The cottages provide excellent access to a multitude of winter sporty activities.

Hotel Herkko. is situated directly beside the skiing resort Taivalvaara. Snowmobiling and winter hiking starts from the hotel yard. As well it is the trailhead for cross country skiing. All rooms are equipped with TV, drying cupboard, toilet and shower. For guests the sauna and swimming pool use is free of charge.

Program

1^st day: Transfer from the airport to the accommodation. After dinner, you’ll get all information’s needed. Relax in the Sauna. For late arrivals information next morning.

2^nd day: Equipping and preparing for the snowmobile safari. Driving and safety instructions before starting to a 40-60 km long tour on challenging trails, through wild forest, wide swamps and lakes. You may meet reindeers and birds and see traces of moose and snow hares. On the way, lunch will be served by a fire. Duration of the tour is about 4-5 hours. Two persons per snowmobile. On request, single snowmobile is possible with extra price. Clients self response in case of crashing the snowmobile is 500 € maximum.

3^rd day: Transfer to the husky farm for the sled dog training day. A hundred huskies and your guide welcome you on Finn-Jann! Now, you will get all information’s for the coming day and instructions how to handle the dogs and the sledge. We will drive a training loop with two person per dog-team. One is driving and one is sitting in the sledge. Change of driver during the tour. Lunch is served by an open fire on the tour. Driving distance depending on the weather conditions between 15-30 km.

4^th day: Transfer to the husky farm. Preparing for the overnight tour. Everyone will drive his own dog-team with 4-6 huskies. An option is two person/sledge. During the tour, lunch will be served around an open fire. In the afternoon we will arrive to the wilderness cabin. Together with the guide, you take care of your own dogs. And in teamwork, we heat the cabin and sauna, open the ice whole and carry the water. Coffee time. Then, you can enjoy the real, traditional Finnish sauna with a breathtaking swim in the ice hole. Dinner. The rustic block cabin doesn´t have electricity and running water. Outdoor toilet. The cabin is warm as well in the coldest winter nights.

5^th day: After breakfast and dog feeding, we will pack and prepare the dogs to continue the tour. Lunch will be around open fire again. In the afternoon, arrival back to the farm. After saying goodbye to the dogs, coffee time on the farm. Transfer back to the accommodation.

6^th day: Winter sport in Taivalkoski. In the morning, you will snowshoe through the Taivalvaara Nature fitness park. Enjoy the fresh air, the silence of winter and learn about Finnish nature and wildlife. A warm drink is served on the tour. After lunch in the hotel, it is possible to join a cross-country skiing introduction.

7^th day: Free day to explore the surroundings on your own. Visit the village, join our other activities, go downhill skiing or just relax and enjoy the wellness and sauna. On the last Dinner, you can taste local meals from the buffet.

8^th day: After breakfast, transfer to airport.

The order of the days is variable and depending on weather and group conditions.
