Sami
village Soppero – stopover at the moosepark Vittangi Our Samish friends
Britt Marie and Per Nils welcome you at their home. A traditional reindeer
farm in the middle of a Samish village. Most of the reindeers are outside
during summertime, nevertheless some of them will be around at the home. The
small Samish museum (all of Bridos and Nils family) gives you a good impression
about the Samish history. The traditional huts and accommodations make the
idea of living perfect. On the way home it is a must to stop at Lars and his
moose in Vittangi. See the animals close to you and listen to Lars` stories
- since 2005 two of those moose (today there are 6 now) stay at him, their
names: Foppa and Fridolf.

Kiruna
and Jukkasjärvi - the world biggest iron ore cavern - production of ice
at the Icehotel The tour down to the mine is unforgettable. The possibility
to visit a working underground mining is unique. The exposition and diashow
give ideas of the life in the underground. The museum shows much about the
100 years of this mine. Daily at 9.00 there are guided tours in English. Worth
to see is also the church of Kiruna. Constructed in the traditional kåta-style….
large ground and small top! Lately this church has been chosen as the most
popular building in Sweden! In Jukkasjärvi - a few kilometers from Kiruna
- we find every winter the world famous Icehotel. How to get the ice and the
construction of the hotel we will know after a visit to the Icehotel Production.
A further visit is worthwhile to the church of Jukkasjärvi, the eldest wooden
church of Lapland. The very eldest part is dated 1607, the new terrific investment/renovation
1997 – the organ.

Fishing
in the untouched nature of the Kalix River. Charged by the Mountain Rivers
of the Swedish Fjell, the Kalix presents its most original and untouched character.
Enormous dimensions of water scape the landscape after the junction Kalix
and Kaitum and create a dream of a wild river amongst the very old forest.
In the rapids move strong trouts. The population of greyling is good and after
midsummer you may catch salmon.

the region. The breathtaking Abiskocanyon is reachable in 10 minutes walk
